Authority, sponsorship, intended audience.
"MedWay's goal is to offer convenience and interesting interactive educational courses for the Healthcare industry." Intended audience includes nurses and skilled therapists, also professionals in the behavioral sciences. MedWay is a division of SSB, Inc., a technical services firm specializing in information systems and interactive technologies.

Course article description and article summary description appear clinically oriented, although authorship and source of authority are not given. Note that articles may not be viewed prior to purchase, so source information may appear within text not available for public view.
Information supplied by Medway to this author states that orthopedic articles are contributed by the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses (NAON), previously published in their industry journal. HIV courses are prepared by Northwest Virginia HIV Resource Center. All authors have at least a bachelor's degree and two years of experience in area of subject expertise. Course titles appear clinically oriented. There is one section of courses designated as "mandatory inservice modules," although this designation is not fully explained. MedWay offers corporate fee membership in addition to individual purchases of course access.

Browser and other concerns.
Pages are basic and easy to navigate, with the exception of occasional html code tags displayed by browser. Home page does not offer much background information, serving fundamentally as an index to course offerings. Open forum chat available via home page, however chat forums were empty and unmoderated when this site was reviewed.

Continuing Education.
Course topics are grouped into selection categories: nursing, physical therapist, respiratory therapist, behavioral sciences, and mandatory inservices. Courses are $15-$20 for 1.5-2.0 contact hours, but are not available for viewing prior to purchase. Individual purchasers welcome, corporate membership offering quarterly reports of CE accruals per employee also available. Select from course title listing, and brief article summary, no browsing prior to purchase. Unable to assess course formatting, authorship, or level of course objectives, as well as whether they are truly interactive or read-only. "Mandatory Inservice" category is not explained, however, course titles in this category concern topics such as workplace safety, cultural diversity, and fire safety.
