HELIX (Healthcare Education Learning & Information Exchange) is sponsored by Glaxo Wellcome Healthcare Education Department, of Glaxco Wellcome Inc. pharmaceuticals. Site overview states HELIX "is a premier meta-health care site on the World Wide Web offering professional education and information for all health practitioners and their patients." Site also sponsors MEDLINE and AIDSLINE, and while some HELIX resources are intended for consumers, professional resources are clearly identified.

Courses are developed by various institutions and organizations through grants provided by Glaxco Wellcome, and affiliations are clearly identified.

Continuing Education.
Courses are clinically based yet reflect current trends and issues in nursing and health care. CE site requires login registration (name, address, telephone number and profession). All courses are viewable online and are free of charge. Clear objectives, content source authority, and information on course authors (including photos!). Courses are text narrative, and include tables, simple graphics, full references. Some courses are co-authored by physicians and nurses, each contributing a section with separate objectives and references. ANCC approved provider. Courses range from 2.0-2.6 contact hours, no fees.
