Continuing Education.
While the ASHA site includes a calendar of continuing education events, there is only one "online" offering at this time -- an informative and thought-provoking instructional guide to "Technology 2000." Table of contents includes exceptionally thorough coverage of Web-based considerations such as hardware and software, and components of Internet Literacy such as email, lists, live chat, videoconferencing, and selecting an Internet Service Provider. Included for clinical consideration is a discussion of practice-based "futuristic" impact, such as computers in speech-language assessment, language sample analysis, interventions, treatment plans, and report generation. Information contained in "Technology 2000" is applicable to anyone interested in more information regarding the Internet, while also providing thought-provoking future applications in clinical practice.
